Roulette Strategies when Betting Online

9261351_s Roulette Strategies: Roulette strategies are so designed that players can reduce their losses and maximize their profits. There are many popular strategies people usually go with, such as:

  • Use the Martingale strategy: This is one of the most popular strategies used for Roulette. Here, the player keeps doubling his bet on the assumption that eventually he will beat the house advantage and win. However, since the logic it is based on is faulty, anyone using it does so at his or her own risk.
  • Place Straight, Corner and Even Bets: The most widely used online roulette technique involves dividing one’s entire bankroll into small parts to place on several kinds of roulette bets. To place a Straight Bet, you will need to pick a number ranging between 1 and 37 and bet on it. If you win, you will get a payout in the ratio of 35 to 1.

By placing Corner Bets, you can bet on four numbers simultaneously and expect a payout of 8 to 1. These bets can give you small edge monetarily, but aren’t usually recommended.

When a player divides the board and picks a side—red, black or odds or evens, he chooses to go with Even Bets. The payouts here are 1 to 1.

  • Choose Split Bets and Six-Line Bets: To make for a more attractive roulette strategy, you can choose to go with Split Bets and Six-Line Bets. A Split Bet is created when a player divides two numbers using a single bet, and gets a payout of 17 to 1. Compared with a Split Bet, Six-Line Bets are better with a high chance of winning and a payout of 5 to 1. Here, players bet on six numbers, using one bet.
  • Don’t use a five-number bet: Usually, five-number bets (0, 00, 1, 2 and 3) are available in the American version of roulette. Here, the house edge is a weighty 7.89%, about three percent more than any other kind of bet on the roulette table. If you feel that one of these numbers will win, then choose to go with a Straight or a Split Bet. This will certainly bring down the house advantage and give you returns between two and six times what you would get on a five-number bet.
  • Stretch your bankroll by playing a European wheel:  Another ingenious way of making sure that you have enough cash to play is to play roulette on a European wheel. This wheel does not have the double zero and the effect of this is reducing the edge that the house has over you by half, which amounts to a 2.7% edge. Most of the American Casinos have got the European wheel but they are available only with a catch. Normally they will place a minimum wager limit on the European wheel while the double zero wheel which will be a next to it wont have a limit. So if have the extra cash to wager use the European wheel but don’t do this if you don’t because it isn’t worth risking the little you have so as that the house can have a lesser edge on you.
  • Opt to surrender: This strategy is an altered version of the European strategy called Custom en Prison. Here, money wagers that lose to the number zero on the layout or double-zero are just half-lost. Players can leave such bets on the layout, hoping for a push or can take their half back. By doing this, the house edge reduces on even money bets in American casinos to 2.7%, while in European casinos, it drops to 1.35%.
  • Learn to identify a biased wheel: A biased wheel or an unbalanced one will automatically favor specific numbers. Once you learn to identify biased wheels, you can profit from them. This method is also referred to as wheel clocking.
