Mobile Gambling Report Shines Light on Emerging Market

Mobile GamblingIf you look back in the mid-1990s, two main things were happening that would soon lead to the explosion of the online gambling industry. The first is that Internet connections were becoming much more common in the home and in public. The second is that hardware was increasing in speeds with decreased prices coming at rapid rates. This gave people the ability to access the Internet regularly and freely, and this eventually gave birth to the demand for gambling online. The same sort of thing has been happening over the past few years for mobile gambling.

Mobile Gambling Takes Off With Big Time Betting

A recent report from company Swrve, a marketing company that specializes in mobile data, has found out some pretty interesting numbers. A total of 50 percent of the revenues that companies make from mobile gaming come from an extremely small minority of players. That minority is just 0.15 percent, and it’s an extremely small piece of the puzzle.

Some other interesting numbers from their report showed that the trend continues beyond that with a small percentage of players accounting for the majority of play. In the gambling world, this would indicate that growth for mobile gambling is primarily being seen as an addition to their normal downloadable-casino play. This information would also indicate that very few people play in mobile online casinos without coming from a downloadable casino to start.

The Growth of Mobile Online Gambling

To say that mobile casino play has gotten popular over the past 18-24 months is a massive understatement. The top online casino software companies have been really pushing their mobile products hard with both HTML5 and Macromedia Flash, and they have been doing so with an eye to the future. More and more, players are switching over to the mobile casinos software since it’s easier to take with them on the go, even if it’s in combination with their downloadable casino play.
