Interesting Atlantic City Online Gambling November Results

Atlantic City Online GamblingThe situation with online casinos in the state of New Jersey has been extremely interesting to watch because it’s setting up how online gambling will unfold over the next several years for the rest of the United States. Atlantic City online gambling results are in for the month of November, and they’re a little surprising to say the least. The total revenues for the month was up about 11.5 percent when compared to November for last year, and while online wagers were a part of this, they aren’t necessarily going to be able to close the gap from here on out.

Why Atlantic City Online Gambling Results Are So Important

The main number that matters here is $8.7 million since that’s how much their online games pulled in November. There was a growth of 5.7 percent in total online accounts which moved them from about 479,000 to about 506,000. While these aren’t all going to be accounts from players who didn’t have an account at a different property before, this still reflects a steady amount of growth in the online aspect of the industry in the state of New Jersey.

What makes these results so important is that the total casino win for November was $193.8 million. This means that online wins were only about 4.5 percent of the total, and with growth up more than 11 percent, it’s easy to see that online wasn’t responsible for the majority of the increase in gambling revenues for the state.

Missed Projections

This really ties in a lot with the missed projections for the types of revenue that online gambling could bring in. Some people were projecting as much as $1 billion a year in total revenue, and a lot of people bought into this. However, it simply does not make sense that online would take up such a huge portion of the industry when New Jersey is lucky to do $2.3 to $2.4 billion a year total. This means that online gambling is not going to be the quick fix to save Atlantic City that many people thought it would be.
