Blue Gem Gaming Purchases Sheriff Gaming

money launderingIf you’re the CEO or a major official in an online gambling software company, then the last thing you want to do is get caught up in charges on things like money laundering, associations with a criminal organization, and illegal land-based gambling operations. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what has happened to several key figures at Sheriff Gaming including CEO Stijn Flapper.

Back this past September, Sheriff Gaming was put on notice by Alderney Gambling Control Commission after all of these allegations started becoming public. In February, it was made official: Their gaming license was revoked. This is one of the worst things that can happen to a software provider in this industry because it immediately alienates every single operator that uses their product in the worst way possible because it questions the legitimacy not only of the software itself but of any online casino site that decides to continue using it. In short, it puts everyone associated with the brand in jeopardy.

Because of all of this, Sheriff Gaming was in some hot water to say the least. This situation has been at least partly difused by a lesser-known game developer named Blue Gem Gaming. Where everyone else saw Bubble Group NV, the previous owner of Sheriff Gaming, in all sorts of legal trouble, Blue Gem Gaming saw an opportunity. The end result is that they have purchased Sheriff Gaming, and the process of adding their own titles to that software has already started. This is giving Blue Gem Gaming the value not only of the portfolio of games that Sheriff Gaming has available but the relationships that operators have formed with Sheriff Gaming as well.

Of course, this strategy is fairly risky. Although they take on a lot of the assets of Sheriff Gaming, they also have to deal with the association that the name has with all of the illegal activities that top-ranking members of Bubble Group NV were accused of. And don’t be fooled into thinking that all of this was some minor legal matter because it turned into a major criminal investigation that led to more than 180 accounts being seized at banks and tons of properties being taken across at least four countries.

At this point in time, Blue Gem Gaming are doing everything that they can to to assure operators that things will run smoothly from here on out. This includes adding their own games to the Sheriff Gaming platform and getting their online presence put together.
