Major Casino CEOs React About NJ online Gambling Legalization

New Jersey is the third state within the US to legalize online gambling, and this has brought about some mixed feelings from brick-and-mortar establishments who have slowly been losing revenue over the past few years. At this point in time, only Nevada and Delaware boast the legalization of online gambling and with New Jersey being a thriving state in its own right predicting a $370 million from NJ online casinos, hopes for these online casinos are soaring. The question remains, however, as to how the online casinos are going to compete with the land based establishments, particularly since New Jersey happens to be the home of Atlantic City, a gambling destination that could be in trouble now that gamblers have the option of playing from the comfort of their own homes.

Three Major Casino CEOs Thoughts to Legalize Online Gambling

In order to determine how this new move might affect these establishments, three casino CEOs were asked about their thoughts on the matter as part of a Bloomberg TV interview. This is what they had to say.

Steve Wynn

Steve Wynn is the CEO to a large casino resort and he is known as a perfectionist who puts effort into every facet of his establishments. When asked what he thought about these new online ventures, however, he stated that he didn’t see much opportunity in them and was happy to continue with his own undertakings while those in charge of the online casinos handled theirs.

Jim Murren

Jim Murren is another casino giant. At this point in time, Murren owns about a third of the casinos that are currently located on the Las Vegas Strip. Unlike Wynn, Murren is actively involved in moving at least a part of his business into the realm of the internet, since he believes that this will be a lucrative move. He is currently teaming up with a software company that is helping him bring poker to the state of New Jersey through the medium of the internet. He believes that because people think so highly of his brands, they will feel the same way when it comes to his casinos online.

Gary Loveman

Gary Loveman is another CEO casino giant, and he is doing everything that he can to make sure that online gambling spreads through the country as quickly as possible. He feels that online poker is integral to the future of his business and it is for this reason that he is petitioning for federal legislation that will enable the correct parties to legalize online casinos throughout the country.

Online gaming remains at the cusp of birth within the United States, and it remains to be seen just how far the casino giants will go to ensure that they get a piece of the pie in terms of gaming revenues. As far as we can tell, most of the giants of this industry want to see this happen, which means they won’t give up without a good fight.
