The Advantages of Multi-Hand Jacks or Better

If you’re familiar with Jacks or Better strategy and want to really test yourself, then playing several hands at once is the way to do it. The way this works is that you choose your discards on a single hand, and then the discards are played out several times in a row. Each individual hand is played out with its own deck, so you don’t have to worry about having worse chances to hit pairs or big hands like flushes or straights. The end effect is that you’re basically getting to play up to 100 hands at the same time. This creates a faster playing experience with less time waiting between hands.

What to Look Out For

One thing that you’ll need to look out for is the paytables on the multi-hand Jacks or Better games. Sometimes they are slightly worse than the paytables for the single-hand versions. The easiest way to figure this out is to look at the payouts for a full house and a flush. You’re looking for a 9x for a full house and a 6x for a flush for what’s called 9/6 Jacks or Better. If you aren’t getting that payout rate, then you should probably look for a better game.

Another thing to look out for is to make sure that you’re careful about small mistakes in your strategy. When a hand is played out several times in a row, even a small mistake can be magnified very quickly.
