Lake’s Five is a game about crime at its highest level, featuring a hardened gang of criminals that are trying to break into a mobster’s secure tower. Well, that’s not exactly right, and once you see the main characters of the game you will not get the criminal vibe from it either. The slot does borrow from the Ocean’s Eleven franchise though, hence the Lake’s Five title.

You have Mr. Lake in the main role, this being an elk. The team of five that are helping him out in breaking into that tower include a crocodile, a parrot, a goldfish (aquarium included), a monkey and an elephant. They look more like comedians than criminals, but that’s part of the game’s attractive side.

Quality is excellent, the symbols are themed every single one of them, and I think that it will be an enjoyable game for a lot of people thanks to its visuals.

Developer

ELK Studios is the developer responsible for the release of Lake’s Five. It’s the sort of developer that takes things slow, releasing a couple of new games each year, and making sure for each one that the design and features are top notch.

They improve as well, and you can see the difference between Electric Sam and Lake’s Five, from their first to their more recent titles.

How To Play It

Nothing has changed in the way ELK does betting in their games, they still give you a screen with bet values to use, ranging between $0.20 and $100. The number of coins is constant, at 100, so that part doesn’t change, only their denomination does.

It’s a slot that doesn’t feel like a regular title, featuring 178 pay lines on 5×4 reels. The symbols need to connect diagonally or horizontally from one reel to the next, to form combinations, so it’s not quite at the level of the ways to win.

Special Features

A Lake’s Five logo will be the scatter symbol on which much of the game’s feature list will be built.

The presence of two such symbols will get you the Wild Respins, where the reels that get wilds will move one position down each round, until they leave the game area. At that point the respins will stop.

If you get three scatter symbols in a single round, then the feature that comes out of it is called The Heist. The scatters are transformed into keys, after which you get 10 free spins. Each new key that you get during the free spins will add one more round to your total. As these new keys get collected on the reels 1, 3 and 5, you trigger additional features.

The Walking Wilds are going to move one position to the right each round. The Sticky Wilds remain in their position until the free spins are done. Climbing Wilds move up one position, for each spin. If you get wilds to cross paths as they move, they apply multipliers for all wins of that round, even up to 3x.

Maximum Payouts

You can expect the best payouts of the game to be coming via Goldfish symbols. Five will pay 1,000 coins, or at most $1,000. Since multipliers are available, you might get up to $3,000 out of individual wins. The game also mentions that you can win up to 216,000 coins, so that would be its maximum limit, most likely delivered as a result of the free spins.

Summary

Lake’s Five has its high-quality graphics, some very interesting and elaborate features, but the list for the latter isn’t as long as in other ELK slots.
