Cats and Cash is not a new game from Play’n GO, just a refresh of an older slot machine of theirs. The action will revolve around cat characters, dressed as humans and acting like us, which are taking part in a TV game show.

The aim is obviously to win money, and they do this through a Wheel of Fortune style feature and other bonus games. A big part of the focus in the game is going to be on the characters that appear on the reels, ranging from the tiger in a suit, to the sexy cat lady in a red dress, the cat with the pink fur around her neck or the nerdy cat.

The symbols which will be seen less, but which have an even bigger impact, will be the ones showing stacks of cash, diamond necklaces, gold bars, aquariums with fish and the show’s presenter. Some of these are high-paying icons, others trigger features.

Developer

Launched in the late 90s, Play’n Go has been part of the providers of content for online casinos right from the start. They are based in Sweden and they create modern slot machines, easy on the eyes and delivering plenty of cool features. They are not as big as Microgaming or NetEnt, two other companies that got their start at about the same time as they did, but they’re still among the top developers right now.

How To Play It

You have three different settings to use, as you take the wager to the value you want to use. I’d recommend sticking with all 15 lines available, since it makes the game more interesting having enough opportunities to get paid. From there, you can go and change the number of coins, using up to 5 per line, with denominations stopping at $1. The full betting range is $0.01 to $75.

The betting system feels more elaborate than in other slots of theirs, but having more options is a good thing. You play here a game with 5×3 reels & 15 active lines.

Special Features

The symbol that got my attention immediately is the wild, which has a cat in front of a microphone. It’s going to be turned into a x2 icon, which means that it has a 2x multiplier to apply to the wins that it’s a substitute in. When it’s not a wild for another icon, it’s forming combinations with other wilds if it can, and that way it delivers the 10,000x top jackpot.

Some attention should go to the Aquarium scatter as well, a symbol that’s capable of paying anywhere from 2x to 400x the wager, so up to $30,000 cash. All you need is for 2 to 5 Aquariums to be in view on the reels.

Pick-A-Gift is activated as a bonus game, whenever the Bonus Gift symbol forms its own combo on a line, in 3+ positions from left to right. This feature can give away rewards of up to 2,000x the line bet.

The Bonus Wheel also has a good prize to give away. Activated through 3+ Bonus Wheels when they form a combination among themselves, the feature spins a wheel and can pay up to 5,000x the line bet. You can also get a respin of the Wheel, if the arrow stops on a segment colored in orange.

Maximum Payouts

A 10,000x jackpot is the best that a 5-symbol combination can offer, and it’s plenty for any game. The cash value reaches a maximum of $50,000.

Summary

Cats and Cash has big enough payouts to give, that I’d imagine plenty of players will want to give it a try. Play’n Go knows how to make a decent slot machine.
